Disgusted!!!

Saw the most disgusting thing yesterday. Went to a lfs, they had white swordtails with hearts, love, flowers, etc, tatooed onto their sides. Some people felt it was too bad but the kids I was listening too thought it was neat, along with many adults. I hate the thought of dyeing fish and this takes the icing on the cake.:scry:

Really?! What pet store was that? Who would spend their time tattooing fish, that's so stupid. That's like those hermit crabs with the painted cartoon character shells. Why can't people just let nature be.

You'll see more of them at holiday periods....Easter, Valentines etc...I've often explained to children at the store how they got that way. Then some don't buy so easily....:ssmile: I'm not real popular with staff, if they hear me, though! I usually try to be discreet!

that's terrible! Saw some painted glassfish at the lfs yesterday and i thought they looked so cool but i then thought they had to be painted because they were all different colours, sure enough got home checked the internet and there they were. So sad.

I've seen that too. I always start a conversation with my g/f about it along the lines of... "My god I can't believe they carry painted fish here. How mean can you be to a fish? I'm not buying anything from this place that will do that!". Some parent always stops me and asks why. Stores hate me... lol thumbs2:

You wonder what happens to the POOR fish once the novelty wears off!

I too think, why do we have to do this to any animal? why can't we just leave them be!! We tattoo ourselves, that's fine if you want to do that, it is your choice, but any animal has no say in the matter!
