Hi all

well I brought some the other day 5 males at the mo. The LFS that I use is quite knowledgable, brought these recently and thinks they are a guppy endler hybrid, he said did I want any females, I said no as I didnt want any babbies but now thinking I might try breeding them as they are very pretty.

I will try to get pics soon, he gave me a nice assortment, they have the flourecent stripes of endlers but are guppys, he got me some with the flat tails, one with the split tail and colour on both bits and one with split tail bottom bit longer and just top coloured but more colour one the body, looks like daughter has scribled on it with my flouresent hightlighters.

Now they are in a comunity tank, but if I brought a floateing breeder tank and furnished it with java moss and some small plants for hidy holes, and move the female as soon as she was preg, would this be ok, or would they be ok just to breed in main tank and the fry take there chances its tank one in my sig for the stocking

Many thanks

Liz

Here's a couple of links to breeding devices that i see my local fish store use for mollies and guppies.
What they do is put the pregnant female in the net, let her have the fry and then take the mother out afterwards, seems to work well, they have lots of young mollies now.

You could take a chance and leave them in the main tank as long as you have plenty of plants for them to hide in until they're old enough to look after themselves.
Good luck.

I agree, good advice. However the female is most likely already pregnant or carrying sperm.
