How much air?

DO i need a airstone if I have the filter which gets some O2 in there and a separate pump on the other side? The hose is wrapped around my heater and just lets the air out the end without a airstone, is that good enough?

As long as their is enough surface agitation you don't really need an air stone at all. I don't know how safe it is to wrap the hose around the heater though.
