Really random question.
A few grocery stores around me sell live fish and clams, and i think the clams are SW.
Is it safe to put them in a SW tank?

lol, what kind of live fish? Most fish from grocery stores are probably a bit too big for a 10g tank no? :)

they have oscar sized fish, but i was thinking of a few clams about the size of a golfball, are they diseased or safe 2 out in?

No clue. I wouldn't risk it though. Some people will say that what's safe for human consumption MUST be safe for aquariums, but you gotta keep in mind that humans can't get most of the diseases fish can, so just because you can stick it in your mouth doesn't mean it's not carrying stuff. Not to mention the food is normally cooked before consumption.

dang, i guess so. If i was only going to put in clams, id buy some store ones, but for a clownfish and anenome, i guess not.
And those poor oscar sized fish, 15 in a 33g. If i didnt stock up my 20 so fast, i woulda bought one.

An oscar sized SW fish? Holy....lol. Rule of thumb for saltwater is like 1 inch of fish per 3 gallons, and thats for small fish...lol

yeah, but one of those fish would be happier in as 1 in a 20g than 15 in a 33g. theyre stuffed in those tanks.
But yeah, the fish are grey with black stripes and are slow moving

the fish in the 33g are in really crappy conditions, and the clames are in good conditions.
One of the chinese supermarkets has a crapload of live stuff.

Alot of puffer owners will buy their live clams from the local supermarkets to feed their puffs so you should actually be safe, although some do say to freeze them first to kill bacteria, but many puffs won't eat it unless it is live. I would suggest you try to find out exactly what type of clam it is and research to see if they have a tendency to carry disease.

thanks kimmers. Thats a good idea. If my anenome is supposed to like meats, ill check the disease rate and maybe buy some.
I doubt the anenome cares if i freeze it or feed it live
