I picked up a small family of these guys today.

Lamprologus brichardi

This is the male.

Awesome pick up Celtic.

I think you will be extremely happy with brichardi. they are cool when they breed. Once you get your first spawn those fry will hang around with the parents. With your next spawn those first fry will "help" in raising the second batch with the parents. Pretty cool to see. Good luck.

Brichardi are awesome fish and bread very easily in no time you will be giving them away.

Brichardi are the Tang equivalent of convicts, except they have a stronger social bond among the family. They'll produce just as many fry, but the parents won't eat them unless the tank becomes overcrowded IME. They do need their own (species) tank, because they will take over the whole tank sooner or later unless you cull the fry. Beautiful, graceful fish, but a holy terror to tankmates when they reproduce.

I couldn't agree anymore with what you just said. They will choke out any other kind of fish you have in the tank, but still looks awesome, nice pictures.
