A few days after that, started using some Amtrite Down to boost cycling and bacteria along, and as reccomended by the LFS added three cherry barbs to provide waste for the bacteria; also added a small plant attached to driftwood;

And here is a current FTS as at the tanks two week[ish, possibly few days more, ive lost track] mark;

-------------------------------------------
Final stocking [will be waiting another couple of weeks and dependant on water tests] is planned to be;
-5 or 7 cherry barbs
-2 female and 3 male guppies
-possibly two small loaches, i forget there name now...
Will this stocking be a bit much for the tank? I definitely want the small cherry barb school, and was hoping to add a couple of guppies at least for flash and colour.
Cheers,
Anyway let me know what you guys think.

Thanks guys, yeh tanks not fully cycled, the barbs are in there supporting the Amtrite Down [i was told this was necessary]. The rest of the stocking wont be until the cycle has finished completely.

I would personally ditch the guppies in your stocking plan. Normally you want 3-4 females for every one male so if you really wanted to do guppies i would just get 2-3 fish of only one of the sexes.
