How many guppies could fit in a 55 gal?
And what would be good tank mates?

Two or three dozen, and small schoolers like Rasboras or Tetras (NOT Black Widow tetras, since they will tear the male's tail fin) would be your best bet for tankmates, because they'd ignore the guppies. In a 55, you could have easily a school of 48, say, Harlequin Rasboras.

I was also wondering about a few mollies??

My plan is to put all my male guppies in 55 gal and females in the 25 gal.
But i will have plenty of room left over in my 55 gal so i want to make it look nice with some colorful fish!

Smart move. I have a female only tank and a male only tank. I have glow light tetras, Harleqen Rasboras, cory cat fish, Bushy nosed Pleco only gets to be about 4 1/2 inches in length and does a great job on cleaning the tanks glass. If you want to have both female/males together in the tank get 1 baby angelfish when it is young . I say 1 as a pair would fight and if they are a breeding pair will guard the eggs and be mean to the other fish. Mine gets along with all my fish in the 55 gal. tank. But beware some fish just don't get along sometimes. In that case you might have to rehome it or take it back to the fish store. They all have their own personality. It will get along with the other fish in the community tank and when it gets bigger will eat any fry that are born, Mollies do a good job also but I find that Mollies are a big waste producers and Platys are also. I would keep the numbers down on Mollies and Platies a few would be fine. They also get about 2 1/2 big.:fish: :fish: :fish:

I went to the lfs today and i was just looking and pricing but i had to look in the guppie tank, I saw a male and i had to get him. he has really pretty colors. its kinda kool because he changes colors in the light certain ways he moves.
haha, its sounds weird but hes so colorful!

and one of my females are about to POP, i wish she would hurry and have her fry! It seems like its going to be forever!!!!!!!!!
