One of my netters and I were moving a tank in the shop today and well somebody almost dropped their end and I tried to grab hold better to keep from dropping it and ended up getting a pretty deep cut from the tank glass(rimless...supposidly smoothed). It worked out in the end I got to go to the ER and get it dermabonded back together, and the nice nurse lady gave me a whole big hand ful of dumdums. Im just glad it avoided my white XXX tat...theres no way I coulda got that touched up or fixed.:11:

Anybody else get any random injuries in due to the hobby?

Isn't it funny how dangerous the hobby is! HAHA! I nearly lose an appendage every time i feed my Silver Aro! Gar bites stink too!

Yup, had this one happen to me as well, gotta be careful on the edges. Even the plastic trim around the top of the aquariums can scrape you up pretty good after an hour of aquascaping, i have some cuts up by my armpit as the 45gal is tall, another inch and i couldnt reach the substrate.

lol, glad to know im not the only one who gets all sorts of random injuries from fish keeping. Id say the worst thing ever are venomous species, I got hit by my 10" motoro ray once, and a 12" Volitian lion twice...but one of the worst Id say is having a dinner plate sized Condi anenome latched onto my hand.

I bet those gars really do hurt, all those needle teeth just doesnt look fun. Wow tho Ive never heard of a Pacu biting somebody, thats a first for me. Aros, Os, preds yeah.

with the pacu i was fixing some piping in the back and i wasnt looking at what i was doing. my finger felt weird and i looked and the pacu had my whole finger in his mouth. with his jaws all he had to do is close his mouth and pull and there would have gone my finger, but he just sat there and let me pull it out

Oh my that would have been scary! Ive had oscars take my finger and give me a good bite a few times it just kinda skins your finger up a bit. You guys are lucky and have obviously cared well for your pacu for them to let you keep your digits intact. lol
