I just wanted to intorduce myself. I am a 4H mom and leader, who is helping her youngest start his first freshwater tank for Aquatic Science 4H project.

He is so excited and I am getting him to read a few things, right now I think I am reading more than he is.

He just got 6 neon tetras today for his tank and can't wait to get more fish in the tank.

4H is a youth organization here in the States as well as a few other countries, where kids learn about different things by doing projects. Many remember the days when it was just cooking and animals (cows, sheep, horses) but now there are over a hundred different projects ranging from Aerospace to Woodworking, Aquatic Science to home furnishings (mostly that project is refinishing furniture and using it in home decorating), Computers to rabbits. Of course you can still bake in the foods projects including using a microwave to bake a cake and raise all sorts of animals. Not only do the kids learn about their projects they are doing but about themselves and things like responsiblity and leadership. I know it is as clear as mud now, 4-H.org might be able to answer the question better.
