Do you think I could keep a dwarf puffer with a few pygmy corys in a 5g?

No, the puffer would kill the corys.

Yeah I don't think you can keep those guys with anything really. The things I have read that do well with them are oto's and sometimes shrimp but that's risky.

you can keep them in comunity tanks but its pretty difficult, tank needs to be heavily planted, even though shrimp are usually food for puffers, dwarf puffers tend to leave some alone, and otos can be kept with them aswell, other species are more touch and go tho, break theyre line of sight up with ornaments rocks or plants and be ready for death

I am keeping 2 DPs in a tank with 4 neons and 2 zebras and they all do fine the biggest trouble maker is the big zebra the puffers just chill in the plants or swim figure 8s threw the rocks if you give them enough stuff to keep them interested they are fine.

Yeah Dwarf Puffers pretty much have to be kept by themselves or they'll cause a lot of trouble. My best advice is to stay away from the DPs.
