Well, in my endless hours of scouring the net for information on my latest obsessions in fish keeping I often found myself being directed to this site so I figured I would finally join and see what else was hidden in this fountain of information. thumbs2:
I am a college student and as such am only allowed to maintain a small aquarium (dorm rules). I have a 5.5 gallon glass tank with 4 neon tetras. I know they may be a little cramped but I have provided (I hope) enough plant cover for them ti hide in. Even with there just being four of them, they school quite nicely and I have not noticed any unusual behavior.
Anyway, I thought I would introduce myself and post some pictures of my tank for feed back and comments.

This is my current tank:

The Anubias nana are alive and the stem plants are fake. The driftwood is also fake.

Since summer is soon approaching, I will be finding new homes for my fish and snail. I would worry about taking them on the 10.5 hour car ride home.
Once I'm home I plan on starting the process of setting up a tank inspired by this one:

It'll basically be a complete overhaul. I will most likely house a male betta in it along with a couple ghost shrimp.
I would love to hear comments and enjoy feedback.

EDIT: I'm still figuring this all out. It appears the images did not post in the thread so I have attached them. Hope this works.

welcome to the AC, 4 neon tetra's should be totally fine in a 5 gallon. especially since you say you've provided them hiding spots with plants n all. If anythng, I would say maybe get a larger school of them. I could be wrong, but i really think theyd be fine. of course you could always get a bigger tank :)

Hello and welcome to the forum! Yes, there is a fountain of knowledge here! Plus a whole lot more! Feel free to post any questions you may have. Sad that you have to find a new home for the 4 tetras and snail though...would there be anyone who would help you look afer them over summer?

I just set up a new 10gal in my dorm room too. Planning on going with a school of roughly 8 neons. Nice to take a break from the books and check out some fish.

Welcome in. I did half a day's worth of research on different Fish Forums but found this to be the most extensive and most useful. You made a good choice too. Nice tank!

I might be able to give them to my aunt. I'm sure I'll find someone who'll want them.
