So I bought some hikari algae wafers today and dropped one in my tank intended for the oto's (yes I now know 1 is waay to much lol). They don't seem to interested in it but all the other fish and shrimp were pecking at it for awhile. It's still laying at the bottom of the tank with a freshly added piece of zucchini neither of which the oto's seem to like. Maybe they just prefer the small amount of diatoms left on the tank glass?

I also just tried to feed my diamond tetra's some NLS pellets which they usually go crazy for but this time they didn't swarm over them and when one did get some of it he just spit it out. Are they just full from the algae waffer perhaps or like it better than the NLS pellets? The shrimp didn't even seem to want anything to do with the pellets.... :help:

I'm not sure whether otos are nocturnal, but you could try turning out the lights at night and giving them a wafer then. That way the other fish wouldn't eat it before they could get to it.

No idea about the tetras, just give them some time and see how they like the NLS later.

How is your water chemistry? Certain factors like dirty water can make your fish tsop eating.

My water parameters are fine and they still don't seem to like the NLS. Sometimes one or 2 will eat it but mostly they just spit it out and it becomes shrimp food. Maybe they stopped liking it?

That's what I do about every other night. It's always gone, don't know who is getting it but hoping it's the otos...they look fat and happy..

Yeah I'm putting some zucchini there at night now. Going to maybe try part of another waffer soon.

I'm hoping the tetra's will start eating the NLS once they get hungry enough lol. I smashed a snail this morning and one of the tetras started eating some of it. I think they just don't like what is good for them, little buggers.:hmm3grin2orange:

My otos ignore algae wafers. They go for cucumber and spinach but dont go for zuccini.

Ooh thanks for the tip:22: . I put in some spinach and I think they ate some of it. I'll try cucumber tonight then if i can make it to the store.
