Mystery snail in hiding?

Do mystery snails hide? I was going to put mine in the 5.5g to take care of the hair algae. Buuuut...I can't find him! :ssuprised: This isn't really that unusual, but I usually just not bother with looking and eventually he'll show up. But, I'd like to put him in my 5.5g before I go to bed so I can watch how he does in there with the shrimp and frogs.

Do they hide? I've looked everywhere. Maybe he buried himself? lol

Hmm - so, my mystery snail finally showed his face. I scooped him out and put him in the 5.5g to help with the hair algae. It didn't move at all for awhile, so I put it back in the 20g. It's still not moving, and it's been a good while now. Hope I didn't kill it somehow. :scry:

Sorry for like triple posting - but my mystery snail is moving around now. I reckon I just spooked him.

hmm. i dont know a lot about snails, but, dont they play "possum" and go into their shells when frightened. i hope this is the case with yours. i hope he is ok. :ssmile:
