I have a 29g that is currently stocked with 3 Botia Angelicus and 1 BGK (working on getting a MUCH larger tank), the Botias being about 2 inches and the knife at almost[I] 4 inches or so. I was hoping for more Botias, but the LFS only had the three so...here's my dilema:

Two of the loaches (the females I think) pal around great together with only the occasional 'spin' for dominance. Phester (the third loach, I'm guess male) isn't as social with them and seems to think he's a BGK...?

I'm sure it would help if I had a few more loach buddies, but our LFS RARELY has any Angelicus and although I have made the request a few times I can't say how long it will be until they have more. That being said, is there another type of loach that would make my mini-school (Phester in particular) happier?

Also, I have [I]entertained the idea of having some shipped, but I live in a small Colorado town so I'm not sure this is a good idea...

Thanks for any input!

It's pretty much necessary to keep groups of the same species of botia for social interaction. My angelicus wre shipped, it's not usually a problem aside from the extra cost. Try planetinverts.com, they have them listed as being in stock.

OK, thanks. I had a feeling that would be the case. I checked that sight out, but didn't see any loaches. Any other sights that may be good to order from?

Sorry, wrong invert seller. I get them confused with this one:[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
They're at the bottom of the page.

Woohoo! Thanks a bunch! I paid $20 each at the LFS for mine. Time to get my QT ready!
