For some reason or other I've never been a big tat fan, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate good artwork, The line drawing looks really cool, and the finished pic you showed there is very nice.:22:

You can always tell a good tattoo artist by how clean their line work is, and that is clean :) Should be a sweet piece when finished :22:

It will take 3 sittings around 2-3 hrs each according to the artist. He doesnt work fast.My wifes butterfly [2.0"] took about an hour.I truly wish I could have gotten this piece done full size across my back, funds and pain tolerance will not allow it.

looks nice mate, unfortunately they do cost alot.
I reckon a slower artist is a more precise artist when it comes to tattoos and you tend to get a better job done.
I'm a bit lucky where i am though, i have a very precise and quick tattooist.
My back job is about as big as the one in your pic and it took nearly 6 hours in two sittings.
Anyway enjoy your new tatt, the pains worth it if ya get a good job done.thumbs2:

What a lousy week.I have come down with a small flu it seems and I can stop coughing and doubling over from it.I lost time from work today and I had to cancel my tat appt.

Funny you'd mention tats.... I have been looking for someone to do an Eagle and American Flag on my arm. I may have found a place in Pasadena. It's going to take me getting the nerve to do so though... but we'll see.
Post pictures when it's done! thumbs2:

yea! I have a Koi swimming up my upper arm! It took about 3 hours for the outline and in 2wks another 3 1/2 hour for shading. I've had it about 3 years now and it could use a touch up, the yellow is fading a little. I'm in the sun a lot and in south Louisiana its not fun to wear semi long sleeves in the summer. Bring on the spf 80 lol.

Cant wait to see it man, said it before and i'll say it again, thats one of the most badass tats ive ever seen. And im pretty picky. I think 95% of peoples tatoo choice is pretty poor for the most part, but not you!

LOL, there are so many variables in how long you can take a sitting. I had booked four hours this past Wednesday get more work done on my Asian/Euro dragon hybrid tattoo. After three hours, I had had enough. I was SO done and was ready to throw the machine out the window along with the artist. We'll be manly wimps, though :hmm3grin2orange: when they are completed. Yours is coming along very, very nicely! When's the last appointment?

Great tat there, Smaug!! Your not a wimp lol Shading sucks as he goes over and over and OVER the same damn spot. Besides, 4 hours is a lot. Almost beat my time of 6 and I'm a "dainty little girl" :hmm3grin2orange:
An interesting tid-bit of info beyond the "eat before you go" and "be well hydrated"; I found if you sit 10 mins or so past your pain level, you leave the room. Care upon standing though, you could end up on your arse and not know how.

The characters are my last name. The Koi is representing my Japanese half by the fact my Japanese father is a pieces and I have one of the two fish.

Monday is my last setting!I hope, that is if it is healed up enough by then. There is one small mark in the middle of one of the leaves that just flaked off yesterday,it almost resembles a mark where a boil had come to a head.It never got infected but this one spot took forever to heal.
Very nice tatoo you got there..

Here it is,this is the last setting with the exception of a possible touch up a few weeks from now. This was about an hour and a half.
