:22: Hi Yall. From the frozen north. I am hunkered down feeding the fire trying to keep myself and fish happy. Just lost one a couple of days ago, and now reading the article in this site, might have identified it as fish TB. Wow, that is scary. It was a groumie, and I was wondering why its scales seemed to be disappearing, fins rotting, and overall not feeling well. It hung out high in the tank, but was still eating. I put it in my hospital tank and was treating it, which was just to much. The rest of the tank appears ok. Well, it will be interesting to explore this site, and hopefully learn and meet new folks.:4:

Welcome to AC.

Hanging out at the top of the tank generally means ammonia in the water.

Where in Alaska are you from? Besides the cold - there's no light!! ... at least until March.

Welcome to the site! I had two of my Gourami's pass for seemingly no reason at all recently. One got a nasty sore type thing on her head, and the male started hiding all the time, and one day I found him dead under a plant. I don't know why they died, I mean, from a water quality perspective, since everything was right where it should be. Anyway, sorry about your fish dying, it's no fun. I hope the rest of ur fish stay healthy, so far mine have been fine.

I am not so far north, but here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, we just came out of a wicked cold snap, minus 20's celcius with windchills in the minus 30's celcius. Not as cold as it can get in Alaska, and not a record breaker for here either, but cold enough for me.

Sorry for your loss. This is a great site to get and keep informed about fishkeeping.
