has anyone used dolomite in SW tanks?
Since its a ugf and biowheel im using, i can use either crushed coral or something called dolomite.
What is dolomite, and which is better?

Dolomite is pretty much limestone, which is just fossilized (pressure smashes it all together) coral reefs. Since the composition is chemically about the same between the two, I would focus on the size and shape of the pieces of substrate and see which one seems a better fit for the UGF and the animals.

I'm not sure which is smaller, it would probably depend on how much they break up the dolomite. If the LFS has both just compare the two.

well, only one of my lfs has either crushed coral or dolomite, and they only have 20lbs of dolomite for 10$. That'll work.
I wont get it till friday because i guess its below tons of boxes in the warehouse and they have to dig for it
