This is the tank I got from a local craigslist listing. I got the whole setup with the eheim filter, 2 powerheads (ugf setup), whisper 800, and some misc items.

I had then stained the stand and painted the trim dark brown to match our paint scheme. I will post some progress pics when I get the chance. I'm really excited to move it in and start the cycling process.

It was a 2217 which retails for $100+ new. Hopefully everything works out well. I still need to place an order for the master test kit, heater, and some other misc items to get me over the $50 for free shipping LOL.

55gal is right. Looks like I'll have to spend some money on the hood though. Need to get it measured and see if it's standard size.

You should probobly consider moving that tank. It has a TON of direct sunlight. It will lead to bad algea problems.

Oh, that was the original picture when the owner took it out of the garage to take a picture of it. I'll take a pic when I get the chance. My camera phone's pictures are crappy.

Another added expense. I need a new hood, the hinges on the old one are cracked.

I uploaded a few snapshots of my progress with the stand and tank. This weekend we are going to fill the tank. I'm excited. :)

Busy weekend but finally got the tank moved in, stained and all that good stuff. Here are some snapshots of the tank. Still need to hook up filters and accessories so I can start the cycling. The substrate is "used" so hopefully this will speed up the cycling process.

Correction on the size also: It is a 45gal.

I would like to try the fishless cycle, but I'm itching to speed it up a little. I'm probably no different than the others before me who are just eager to see swimmers in the tank! The gravel I used in the tank was the same one from the old tank owner's setup.

I need to find me some pure ammonia if I will do the fishless cycle.
