I was glancing through the fish at the LFS came around to the bala tank. I see one the instead of being silver its almost pure white, not albino. All the other colors are the same. Is this one bala special or worth anything extra? I'll put up the video of it soon.

Thats a cool bala! Fish who are just white varients with normal coloring otherwise are usually called Platinum, these fish are just normal freak happenings in the gene pool :) Im sure it will grow up and be a very beautiful fish I hope that one gets a nice 6fter and will make it to adulthood :)

Would that make it worth alot? I know platinum arowanas can easily sell for over $50,000.
I would like to buy it, but have no where to house it. :ssad: I should see if I can get another tank for him.

It might not nessesarily be worth more, but it is rarer.
Worth is determind by how many people like this color morph and are willing to pay extra, not nessearily by only its rarity.
Interesting fish though. But really, you have no way of knowing how long the color could last. Often the color juvenile balas changes as they develop. There is no way of knowing what color this fish would be in your tank, a week, a month or a year from now.

It is more rare and probably would sell for more than a normal one, but Balas are so dime a dozen I wouldnt expect it to go for alot more than a normal colored one still.
