I was re-arranging my chiclid tank and did a big water change forgetting that I was right out of water conditioner. Of course I'm half empty now.

I know I've read its not a big deal, I just wanted some extra thumbs up since I feel kind of stupid for forgetting to buy more.

I guess that was the reason I've been thinking I need to go to the fish store for something lately.

wait to get more, our water isnt fish friendly without water conditioner

funny thing is about a year ago i thought i was using water conditioner and it was actually bacteria product like cycle. i used it for a month and everything was fine. anyways, i wouldnt risk it. or if you need the tank filled ASAP most wal-marts here are open til midnight

Well, that pushed me to look harder and miracuously I found a little api bottle that had just about enough. 10 gallons-ish less than I need, but better than nothing since yeah, i cant run my canister or sump filter on less than half the tank.

Thanks btw

Losing your mind because of the weather like me yet?

You will kill the fish and set your entire cycle back. Glad you found some.

Yuppo,if you have chloramine or chlorinated water you can not skip the conditioner,it is a big deal.

Agreed! A big deal it is!

If you have a big bucket you could put an airstone in it and aerate the water for a few hours, that would drive the chlorine out. Not sure about chloramine though. But it might not be something you want to risk since it could kill the fish and/or kill your biofilter.

Well, I am definitely happy I found that conditioner. Went to big als and bought some more.

Yeah, this weather is awful, I just about put my truck in the ditch today. Hit a big patch of slush on the highway and it just sucked me in. Was able to pull out, but damn... Got my heart up to 200bpm in a hurry.

My car is almost ready to put back together here, hopefully when I get the tranny and motor back in it actually behaves like spring should.

Cocoa, what do you ride?

'92 nissan maxima

and yeah, the slush is the worst. they dont plow the streets here nearly enough and you get those dam trenches from the tires. its hard enough keeping control when youre sucked in them but when someone is coming at you and you have to move over, you suddenly slide sideways. i almost got nailed by a guy in a truck the other day from that and almost nailed someone myself.

youve got a 240sx right? or i might be thinking of someone else. lol

honestly noone else in the city has a nice 3rd gen maxima. they are all either rust buckets or have a handicap sign on the mirror. theres only one person in the city i know of that has a nice one
