Hello all,
I have decided, after seeing all the fantastic planted tanks on this site, that i would like to switch to Estes aqua sand in beige.
Where would i find a retailer in southern california that carries it?(909 areacode) my lfs and chains dont have it. Should i use a special order? or should i use the internet? what sites are reputable?

thanks for all your time:fish: :goldfish:

If your going to the planted world why not use a planted tank substrate? Its going to help you more than you know down the road and Estes sand just like pool filter or playsand are just inert sand. Id just get a $4 bag of pool filter sand before tracking down Estes.

Estes' is pretty popular so even if they don't carry it they should be able to get it in. Just offer to pay for it in full up front.

Needing a planted substrate depends on how hardcore you want to go. If you aren't worried about getting high light, CO2, etc. you don't need a special substrate. The special substrates are eventually exhausted anyways. My plants definitely do really well on it. Check out the video I posted of my tiget lotus in the 150.

Make sure you get the Marine Sand.
