cool. I wish my neon rainbowfish would lay eggs so i could stop buying them.

I know everyone here says to do weekly 50% water changes but I really think it depends on your tank.

If your chemical levels are minimal and the water looks clean then i wouldn't worry about it.

But then again i have live plants which should help my tank go for weeks without a change.

You should be ok without doing a water change untill they hatch, since you are doing it weekly anyways. Missing a week should hurt.

Great news. Congrats.

If your tank is planted, and you have good filtration I see not a problem with the skipping of a water change. How far are the eggs from the top. IF you have a 1 inch or so you can still do a partial water change.

Less than an inch from the top.Ya I am excited but the Dwarf gouramies were eating alot of them I used some screen material and shielded the eggs .We were going to go get more rainbows but have not had the extra money now maybe I wont have to lol:19:

They lay eggs everyday. What you remove today will be back tomorrow and they have millions so not to worry.

If you want eggs, stick some java moss on the bottom and after they spawn on it, remove it to a breeding tank.

Are you certain they're rainbow eggs? Rainbow fish are egg scatterers, and the eggs don't float.

They are on the glass not floating

Ya, I figured that much. It's just that I've never seen rainbows deposit eggs on the glass. When they spawned the eggs simply drifted down through the middle of the tank, to the delight of the other fish. Egg-scattering fish don't deposit their eggs on solid surfaces or plant leaves, so I don't understand why they're on the glass.

Yes I have 2 mature albino corys and several other corys that are young so far unfortunately only 5 eggs have been kept from being eaten. They are clear with what looks like an eye in center they are about the size now of the o on your keyboard.
