Instead of being dark at 5 PM, it was nearly 8 PM last night before getting dark. And my trip to Wally World was interesting as dozens of plants are now in the store. Garden department is covered in 6 inches of snow but alas...............plants are in the store.
I hate winter. It is so confining!

Yes, I'm happy that the weather will be warming up. My hubby has been home too much (because he's in construction, and it's been too cold to work on houses outside) and we're gonna go broke if he doesn't go work lol. One thing good about the snow, I can let my dog outside and he doesn't come in all muddy :)

The past week, the temperature was a constant 10 degrees. In three days, including today, it has warmed up to about sixty. I think that huge cold snap that hit everyone is just more proof that global warming is a crock of crap.

its ready. I remember using it on so many watery occasions. Tripping over water buckets after i vacuum tanks, when i stuck the huge piece of driftwood in my 20g and didnt remember that solid objects contribute to volume and the tank overflowed, when i dropped all 100 of my crickets in the toad tank, including gel and food, and i tripped over that water change bucket and it was a cricket fiesta... so many memories with that shop vac

I loved in an old farm house that always had a flooded basement on one side of the house. I finally went out one spring and dug a trench and laid in pvc pipe that had holes in it and drained the water away from my house. Worked pretty darned good. Covered the pipe up with dirt and you didn't even know it was there.

Our basement gets a bit of water, but it's not bad. We just use it for storage anyway. Our house is 101 yrs old, so it's allowed to get a bit of water in it.

Oh boy, here we go again
If you look at annual temperature trends, you'll see that the average temperature is increasing very slowly. Obviously, it will vary from year to year, since it's a very slow process and subject to fluctuations, but the trend is definitely there. The problem is, the US doesn't really tend to respond to problems unless it smacks them in the face, or if it results in moolah. And yes, that was directed at Bush :P
