View Full Version : White fungus growing on lid?
What is this white fungus growing on the lid of my tank?
White
almost looks like cotton
no direct contact with water
Any ideas on what it is?
Food+water condensation+heat= white fungus?
Normal? side effects? bad for health (fish & human)?
Any insight is appreciated.:ssmile:
Sounds like regular old mold to me. Just wipe away.

Yea thats what I usually do. Any info on was causes it specifically? I'm thinking the humidity and food flakes that may get caught on there.

Never had that but sounds like just regular old mold, you could be right about the decaying food. I would get rid of it as soon as you can. Hot water and something to wipe it off with.
Humidity and food flakes would indeed do it.

Whatever you do don't wipe it off near the tank, it'll drop lots of spores into the tank. Take the lid off, wipe it down, wipe it down with bleach and then wipe it down with some more water.
