I believe that aquariums are exactly like houses.....you can have a really cool tank, but it can still look like crap if the wrong person owns it.
But ya, those are some really nice tanks! I'm learyu of acrylic because it's a softere material than glass and is subject to scratches.....but again very beautiful tanks and fun to dream about!!!
Why would I pay more for an aquarium with a stand from their company than it would cost me to purchase and set up a brand new aquarium with stand from a regular supplier?
If you go to an art supply or home decor store you can find hundreds of things that can be used to add a little more style to your aquarium's peripherals.
With a bit of handy work, an accurate measuring tape, and a bit of planning, you can build around what you have already to make it look like a completely new setup.
As it stands though, they do have some cool designs, and I like their aquarium tables... However high their prices may be...

Those tanks are way over priced but then where else are you gonna get something over 300G, few suppliers do that. I think Ill stick with my plans to buy a TruVu 300G wide(96*30*24) a similar sized setup on that site is almost a grand more. Although I did price what Im sure is a stunning 400G tank with cabinet for just under 5grand on that site *drool* 450HP engine....or HUGE fish tank....oh the choices are so hard. :14:

My LFS used to be a local dealer for Tenecor. They stopped selling them because of poor quality and bad business practices. They make some nice looking tanks, but you can get better made acrylic tanks cheaper from other places.

I drool until I check out the shipping charges. To ship a 75 gallon fish tank to me from 2 hours away is $200. To get a tank stand, unassembled and in a box, from BigAls is $80.....same price as the stand. LOL

Big Al's prices on stands has dropped so much in the past 15 yrs.
I remember looking at a 35gal with stand nothing else for $999.
Now its under $300.
Go figure!
As for acrylic,not a chance!
You can scratch them way too easily.
I got my 35gal stingray stand for around $99 at Big Al's. Has a shelf on both sides and a front door with back-less storage space for equipment in the middle.
I think a lot of the price drop has been due to improved technology.
Better computers and machines means that more, and more complex parts can be made in less time without having to pay as many factory workers. I'm sure new techniques for treating cheap wood like pressboard has also allowed them to use lower quality, thinner pieces of wood that will still support the weight while keeping the pricetag competitive with most standard furniture.

For tanks over 150G acrylic is the only way to go IMO, I dread moving my 150G its gonna take 4 burly people and alot of biofreeze to get that SOB out of here :)

Wow, I can't even look at those sites. Too crazy, too tempting to blow my whole savings on setting up a tank like that.

I dont know how i would manage to make it but as soon as i get to have the space to do it, either in this house or another im buying at least something 300gal, it's a hell of a lot of money but i think is the only way to have what trully is a dream aquarium, i dont mean it for the sixe of the tank but since marine has to be so lightly stocked is pretty much the way to have great species all together, i can even imagine a school of 12 cardinals swiming arround in the crowd.... began to drool again...

Check out truvuaquariums.com Thats where I plan to get my future 300G wide and its honestly not that bad of a price for an acrylic in that size range. $1800 for the tank plus you could get a killer cabinet built for it for a couple hundred.
