Hey guys I havent been on in a while i doubt any of you remember me but i wanted to say hi. I also have one question. I have a 5' 100 gallon tank with some african cichlids in it (1 black calvus, 1 frontosa, 1 crimson tide, 2electric yellow labs, 1 peacock, 1 blood jewel, 2 electric blues, and 2 unidentified cichlids) and i also have 4 senagalus bichirs,1 synodontis catfish, 1 common pleco , and a crab that was sold to me as a rusty crab but im not sure its that. All the fish are between 2-6in. and the crabs about4in. long. The Problem Is I am a HUGE fan of rare, unique , and unusual odd looking species. Do you guys know of any odd looking species that might get along with the fish in this tank.:shappy:
Thanks

I think there is a type of eel that could go in there. Not sure though.

anybody?:ssmile:
Welcome back mate, yup I remember you.:22:
Looks to me the tank need to be looked at carefully. Some of those fish need bigger groups. And some of those fish are not good tank mates.
IMO I would look at sorting out the Cichlid first then look at other fisht o place with it.

I'm with Mac, sort out your stocking and get fish that will work better with each other. From what you've described, a lot of those fish just dont seem to match up for any type of community tank.
You may not be having any problems with them, but are they all mature fish yet? I understand the temptation to buy what you like the look of, and I really do not want to be critical. But that does not seem like it would work out in the long run, as always I could be wrong. Seems to me your about ripe to develop BAD MTS, cause your gonna want some tanks to house some of the more exotic types of fish :)
As for an interesting fish, thats very exotic looking, look into setting up a single fish tank for an african butterfly, any type of eel you prefer ( you wont see them often! they hide.) maybe some bichirs, which you already have... Electric cats are cool, I love lungfish, but they are difficult to care for. You have a lot of options, but do some research, because just about anything rare and interesting that stands out will have different and possibly difficult water parameters and even feeding habits to keep them healthy.
Best of luck to you :)

i would definately reccomend an african butterfly. it looks sort of like cross between a lionfish and a celocanth. one thing u need to be careful about is the thing has a mouth like a garrage door, and will eat anything small that comes to close. keep it fat and happy is all i can say.
