I found a good deal on a K2R calcium reactor but I was wondering If someone had any experience with them. I tried googling but I couldn't find anything on it. The guy is asking $200 for the reactor/pump plus media for it and says the co2 tank is negotiable but I don't know what would be a reasonable price be for all this together would be. help on how to negotiate would be appreciated. I asked for pictures and the condition it was in and he says everything is in good condition and working properly.

Hard to say. A CO2 tank isn't worth a lot, but the regulator is where the money is. I'd find out what brand of regulator he has.

i'll email him asking if it has a regulator and what brand is it. I have to wait for response now.

My boss has a extra co2 tank now that I think about maybe I can get it from him and it has a pressure gauge thing on top but it was used for sodas so I don't know if it'll work.

Im going to go look at the Reactor today and managed to get what I would call a good price for it. he's willing to sell everything Reactor, media, tank and regulator all for $250.

What should I look for? besides obvious cracks.

Im excited about actually getting one so soon but what Im worried about is setting up at least I dont have any corals that can be affected while im trying to get the reactor set up.

Check out the regulator on the CO2 tank really good. Don't worry about things like the Nylon washer, but I'd ask to have him take the regulator off the tank and look at the connection. Inside, there should be a brass piece that looks like it if full of tiny holes, kind of like a sponge. I'd check to be sure those are in good condition.

I went to look at it but the price didn't convince me and the so called regulator wasn't in a good shape so I passed. Im not in a huge need of a ca reactor atm anyway so i'll wait.

Probably a good choice.
