My tank has remained cycled since early this week. Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5.
The packet of Bio-Support I have recommends that I add 1 standard dose to a cycled tank every week.
Why? Is this just so they can sell more bacteria booster?:hmm3grin2orange:
I can't see what benefit it would have in a cycled tank, provided the bio-load doesn't change dramatically. Won't the bacteria just grow/die off as required, provided changes are slow?
I could see adding it when you change something enough to cause a mini-cycle: adding a lot more fish, adding a plant, major disruption of the filter or gravel, etc. But adding it to a cycled tank when no changes have been made?
