View Full Version : mean kissing gouramis

I have a kissing gouramis. it chases everyone around the tank. no matter which side the tank they are on. so pretty much the whole time everyone is running from it. what should I do? I feel i have plenty of plant cover. should i take that one back?

Yes. No point in upsetting the whole tank over one.

i have the same problem.when i got my green kissy fish they were fine.but when one of them got to be pretty big id say 3-4" it attacks everything.it killed my gold fish:(.im afraid to put him in my new 55g when its rdy.i want blue rams and a school of giant danios which i have two now for cycling.idk what to do

IMO I would return the fish. Since it is up-setting the other fish.
Just a question how many do you have, and what is the stocking of the tank, and how big is the tank??

Another thing is the tank may be to small for the fish.

What size tank is these fish in at the moment. Also what was a Tropical fish doing with a cold water fish???

I am kinda confused. So you have the Rams and Giant Danios to cycle the 55 gallon???

How many do you have in the tank? and what sex are they. I remember when I used to keep them the rule of thumb was 2 males and 1 female:ssuprised: ...two males as they are the ones that smooch...

he was in a 30long.after my other few fish died i just got a feeder fish to put in it.he attacked him.i rinsed the feeder fish b4 i put him in.but now hes in a 10g temporarily.its a male and female.they dont kiss.no i just have 2giant danios right now.i want blue rams in the future

The "kissing" is the fish jousting.

Indeed it is thumbs2: hence the two males needed otherwise they become rogue
