View Full Version : Gonna get a 75g!
I managed to drag, er...I mean take, hubby with me to look at tanks.
My options were a 55g corner tank...a 75g rectangular and a 90g rectangular...
We settled on the 75g rectangular...I'm worried I'll find the 55g too small for what I want and the 90g is too deep to clean comfortably...
As soon as I find a stand I like...I'll buy the tank and accessories...and we're off!!!
Likely won't be for a while yet...but I'm looking forward to doing my plant planning! :D

Wowza, a 75g planted tank will look amazing. Gib pics!
Thanks! I'm kinda excited! Even for my two goldfish downstairs...they'll get the 25g!
Oh yes! And for their new 'friend'...I brought home a Dojo, or Weather Loach to try with them...

I'm sure the Weather Loach will be fine. Ever since I put my weather loach in my community tank, I haven't really seen it :( It just kinda stays in hiding.
That's awesome about that tank, congrats! We hope to get a 90gal + sometime.
I had a Striped Raphael like that...I knew where he was because I could see the tip of his tail...but I never saw him out!
The Dojo is in with my goldfish...apparently they're coldwater...who knew?
LOL...well, I suppose lots of fishy-people did...but it's news to me...

Dojo's are actually native of China where they live in ditches and ponds. The Chinese sell them in markets and make soup out of them. Apparently they're tasty :laugh1blue:

yep. Weather loaches actually like crappy conditions and breed in them and like cool or warm temperatures

take some pics of the tank when you get it up and running
Well, this Dojo won't be soup! That's for certain! :thumb:
I will post pics when I get stuff together...I'll do a little step-step...
...but don't hold your breath...unless something unexpected happens, it will be a while still...but that's okay...I'm learning lots in the interim...
First I have to buy a large flight cage for our 7 finches...
Other things I need to do is decorate my snake's 33 gallon aquarium - it's fine for her, but isn't remotely attractive...I measured her the other day and she's 5' long! She's 2 .5 years old - Vietnamese Blue Beauty (Stripe-tailed Rat snake, Elaphe taeniura)...
At least that won't cost me anything other than a little ingenuity...
