I see no specific discussion area related to livebearers. There obviously must be one that is slipping my notice. Right? Right?

As many people that keep livebearers around here, it is a bit of a surprise that there isn't a forum for them. Ask william about it. He may be able to get one started.

Yeah, why isn't there a section?

I can understand specific questions about breeding going in the breeding section, but if I want to now details about my platies, I'm stuck in the "Other Fish" section.

Basically, what I'm saying is that a livebearers section would be really useful.

Don't know much, but I learned this from asking around about my new Molly family. I have Mollies and platys in my tank and would love a live breeder section. Since joining over the weekend, I already feel like I've learned a lot from all of you!

'Female mollies do not do well in breeder nets/tanks. This stresses them
too much so I would recommend removing her, and just watching for the
fry. Livebearers such as mollies, platys, swords, and guppies can
produce fry more than once from a mating. So she could only have a few
this time around, and produce more in approximately 30 days. As for
controlling the population, if you leave the fry in the tank with the
adults, the adults will often eat them. '
