whatever these are they're SUPER hardy...I didn't have light on my tank for a while after the one on the tank broke...the majority of the leaves died, but, got a light on a couple of days ago, and voila! They've regrown and are coming right back to life :)

Just wondering what it is???

Thanks! I think you're right :) I just read that it's considered to be a pest in some states, and I can see why...it WILL NOT die lol. Great plant for beginners.

Your welcome Sarah. Yes it grows like a weed that stuff. :hmm3grin2orange:

It's a great background plant as it will form a hedge at the back of your tank if you take cuttings and re plant it. :ssmile:

Celtic is right. Looks like the green variety. There is also a pink form known as 'sunset'. One of my favorites.

BE CAREFUL though. This plant is VERY invasive and is on the noxious weed list in many areas in the US. If released into the wild it can take over ponds, lakes and streams. This plant can also grow terrestrially as well. If you ever prune make sure to dry the plant before you dispose of it. A single leaf can generate an entire new plant.

Nic, it's actually on the Federal Noxious weed list.

I didn't realize it was on the federal list. Last I checked it was only on certain state lists. As easy as that stuff is to grow, I really think it's time for me to dump all of mine :-(

The leaves are far too large for it to be a polysperma...it is a Hygrophila corymbosa siamensis :11: :11: :11:
