I have a 46 gal. tank that is finished cycling. I have 2 blue gouramis and 1 alge eater. Im just wondering what other fish to put in and how many.

I have been thinking clown loaches and bala sharks... Any suggestions?

Bala sharks are a definate no they will grow to almost a foot long and need to be in groups, so unless you have a very large tank that you plan to move them to they will not work for your tank. Do you know what kind of alge eater you have, common plecos can also get a foot long. Clown loachs i think would be ok but these can also get fairly big 6-7" if im not mistaken. The blue gouramis are a fairly aggessive fish so your going to want something that will not be intimidated. Im not really sure what tankmates they recommend for them but im sure someone here has some experience with them and will be able to help you out.

Clown loaches are happiest in groups of 3 or more.

The Chinese algae eater will eat algae when young, but will stop when older. Plus it gets more and more aggressive/territorial as it ages. Try a True Siamese Algae Eater.
