whatever you call it I got one. Hes blue and awesome. About 2" and roaming my 10g. Ive been searching for one of these a long time ago but never found one. But i went into petco to ge some guppys for the 10g i just set up and their they were so i got one instead.thumbs2: Im working on pics now.

I got some pics but gotta upload the later(the cord has gone missing:scry:) I assumed these guys are coldwater like other crayfish, am i correct in this assumption?

possibly, if they can catch them, crayfish are primarily vegetarian

Ah. I reckon I should know this. We do a crayfish unit in 3rd grade, I think. Not sure if the school I'm teaching at now does it - the school I was at for my internship did.

That's pretty cool, I would remember going down to the creek and catching a couple when I was a kid. They were pretty cool to watch thumbs2:

this guy is pretty cool hes already accepted a shrimp pellet and has started digging around his rock.

He won't stay small for long! I got mine when it was the size of a ghost shrimp - in fact I had ghost shrimp that were bigger in the tank. Now it will fight off the rams for pellets. When they molt it's important to let them eat the shell.

Crayfish are noctournal predators and while they may not catch and eat your fish, they WILL try and you might find torn and tattered fins on your fish. It's been my experience that once it gets a taste of fish, the hunting efforts are doubled. Best to keep them well fed.
