About how long should the cycling process take? Fishless, btw. (And I'm not just going to go all typical newbie and stop testing water altogether after the shortest estimate is done.) I'm going to keep monitering it. I just want a guesstimate from a person with more experience in cycling.

If the media is cycled the tank is pretty much cycled. But you have to be careful not to exceed the bioload the filter had on the other tank. And just monitor your parameters carefully and your good.

Okay, thank you! Glad to hear that. I didn't want to wait for weeks before being able to move fish. However, like you suggested, I'll continue to make sure there are no spikes or other major irregularities. I'm just going to transition my fish in gradually. Well, I would, but I only have one fish right now, a mudcat, and they are the CHAMPION of harsh conditions. But I still don't want him to be stressed by spikes of ammonia/nitrite. Thanks again!
