I decided to try my hand at a few more sps. Our purple birdsnest has been doing great and is showing a lot of growth and color, so we picked up a green cap and an elkhorn montipora through the local reef clubs propagation program. (both were free :hmm3grin2orange:)

Nice! Gotta love the hard corals...so cool...
As soon as I reorganize my rockwork...I'll need to get myself another one...my old SPS was doing really well before the incident...

I had 3 or 4 in the past, but gave all but the birdsnest away because they weren't doing well. Its been a few months and the birdsnest has been great so I thought I would try again. I'm more of an LPS guy myself but the sps have been tempting me:hmm3grin2orange:
In part, my frag tank is for the purposes of watching the corals grow. As soon as it's mature and I rearrange the display tank, I can slowly start collecting little bits of corals...
I do have a monti that didn't die in the frag tank that looks like it's holding it's own...but none of the others have survived.
The left over bit of frogspawn is in the frag tank too and seems to be doing well. Maybe it will grow back! It was quite large before the crisis...
