It's certainly interesting some of the "different" patterns you can get on fish that usually all look the same.

I know of a girl who has clown loaches, but none of them have the traditional patterning, she only has ones with odd patterning on them!

At least you name that one individually, LOL, he won't be just Eenie, Meenie Minie or Mo, he could be Belthezaar since you know which one he is! :hmm3grin2orange:

Looks like an adolpho cory got mixed in with ur pandas. Could be an odd color morph though. I guess you'll find you when it does/doesnt get twice as large as the others.

lol They do look similar.
Did the lfs tell you they are the same?

No one noticed that he was different...he was labelled a Panda Cory. While the staff member was netting my fish, I was having a conversation with a man who was having trouble with his 10gal goldfish tank, containing nine Goldfish and one Dojo....:ssuprised: I ended up giving him my phone number, as he's now planning a bigger tank, and had lots of questions. I noticed the different Cory during acclimation, and just thought it was a mutation..

Hes going to get about twice the size of the pandas if he is what we think he is. Im sure they will get along though.

He'l get along fine with the Panda's, but, Panda's are more expensive, you may want to take it back and get what you paid for

at first glance they look like shwartz, or "shwartzi" corydoras

I think your Cory's are C Melanistus, C Schwartz's have more of a
striped pattern, they are often mistaken for each other though.

Nice pick up's Sharon, gotta love those Cory's!

I thought true melanistus is missing the black patch on the eye though? Is that not always the case? I know you know your corys mike

I can't do that without extreme guilt...I'd hate to downgrade the poor little guy. I'll just take the loss....:ssmile:

They all have the eye patch and if you check out the juvie pic on the right
I think it matches up with gabby guppies.

I may have been confusing them with something else, there are some pics on google of them without the patch, but those people could easily be confused as well.

I agree it does match the juvy pic very closely, good eye. Somehow planetcatfish never got re-added to my bookmarks when i got the new comp:hmm3grin2orange:

I bet you have it book marked now lol, so many cory species are
often confused with each other C Jullii and C Trilineatus being a
good example, we should start a fish pic database on AC, thumbs2:

Sorry for hijacking your thread Sharon.:11:

Thanks Brookfish! At first glance, I thought my Corys were identical to the top one in Sharon's photo.

I can now see that mine has spots, where hers has stripes.

Those two i have no problem with, as i had to know when i wrote the articles :hmm3grin2orange: Theres even a few more that are close enough to get confused with them

There are quite a few species profiles, but theres always room for more, we've barely scratched the surface. Write some up! :D

I wasn't talking about profiles, just a pic of the fish with
maybe a Latin and common name for a quick id. thumbs2:
