i'm amazed he survived. how long was he stuck?
i am guessing that since his/her brothers and sisters were taking out about the same time i think it's been 3 months as well.

How could this thing have lived that long in a filter? Amazing!

I had similar experience with a baby jewel cichlid that had got into the undergravel filter, only found him when i moved house - at that stage i think he'd been there for about 2 1/2 months - he was a bit undersized but still grew up normally after getting a bit of freedom.

I guess they would survive on the crap getting sucked in by the filter, but still not a very nice enviroment for them.
