Can't find any weather loaches in my area (KCMO)!

I am in Kansas City and I swear I have called every place that sells tropical fish looking for weather (also called dojo) loaches and NOBODY has them. They used to carry them about half the time at Waldo Pets, but now that their business is not doing so well, they don't have much of anything, let alone weather loaches.

I miss having them and now that I am back to having an aquarium again I'd like to incorporate them into my tank. They have such great personalities and curious behaviors.

And they look like spotty hot dogs with whiskers.

If anyone on this forum lives in the are and knows where I can find them, let me know!

I had the same problem here in South Dakota. I ended up buying them online and shipped in. Seem like all the lfs kept telling me was they couldn't get them, yet I have found several places online that have them. I now have 6 gold dojo's and 7 kuhli's in 2 tanks.:thumb:

I hadn't even thought of purchasing them online. I wouldn't think it would be worth it to ship such small quantities of live fish. Don't they have to keep them climate controlled during shipment? I will have to read up on this and check out potential online resources for dojos.

I ordered mine in with a shipment of other fish. It costs between 35 and 40 dollars to ship overnite from my sources so I usually wait till I need a fairly good amount of fish, or I go in with a few other people and split the cost.
