After so many hassles with the latest internet explorer I have decided to give firefox a shot.
Any of you guys use firefox?

I can't see the shadow on my username with firefox, any ideas on settings with this browser?

Some of the features regarding the user name don't work in Firefox, I haven't been able to make them show up. I use Firefox, I have never been a fan of IE, before Firefox, I used Netscape. I have found a few minor things Firefox can't do, but there are so many things that make it better then IE, like inline spell checker.

I use Crazy Browzer. I like the tabs it has, it's easy to go from one site to another.

I have never tried firefox, and from what I gather, firefox was how my niece was bypassing parental controls on AOL so I got a real issue with it:wink2: and that created more work for us having to lock even more out of our computer. Thank goodness she is gone and the computer that is getting readied for our kids now that I have my new one will be able to be fully functional with the Spector as back up to make sure noone is trying to do something they aren't allowed.

LOL.

I use firefox. I love the recovery feature for when my computer does the occasional seize-up after I leave it on for too long.

My grandson did the same thing on my computer after I told him "he better not". I changed my setting to only allow me to log on. Sometimes you just need to take it from them.

I'm not looking forward to those days. Right now my kids are 2 1/2 and 4, so I still get to enjoy their innocence.lol

I've been using firefox for the past 3-4 years. I really like it. It is not crammed full of features that most people wont ever use, but has a lot of add-ons that you can choose to load if they are useful to you

My only beef with Firefox is that it won't show the user name glow I spent 750 points on! lol

My boyfriend uses Firefox and he swears by it. I used it and it didn't make enough difference (in loading speed) for me, but then again, I have an older computer and he buys new laptops at the drop of a hat.

On a well maintained computer, the speed is the same. The difference is that with IE, you tend to get more spyware on your computer, thus slowing it down. This of course, can be removed with the likes of Adaware. To increase loading speed, you can try stuff like [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

To al of you parents out there with children who will someday have access to the internet I have 2 suggestions. First, make sure you raise your kids with loads of supervision, just because they are old enough to stay home alone doesn't mean they should be left on their own all of the time, included in that supervision is DISCIPLINE, making sure they always know there are consequences to their actions and certain actions will NOT be tolerated.
Second, I highly suggest investing in a spyware program that is intended to show you what goes on on the computer your kids use. I have an old version of spector and it is amazing how much info it gives me, and since it runs in stealth mode the kids have no clue it is on the computer, but I have access to all of their keystrokes, what websites they visit, and their chat and IM logs. I don't sit around reading this stuff, but it is nice to know you can if you are worried about something. For example, I allowed my daughter to create a profile on flash flash revolution, a gaming website that she is allowed access to on AOL parental controls for children under 13. AOL parental controls did not stop any of the activity so I told her she could try it. In less than 3 days a supposedly 17 yr old hottie was trying to contact her (she is 11) and wanting to give her tips to add him to her buddy list and what have you so they could chat. What 17 yr old kid wants to chat with an 11 yr old prepubescent child????? I contacted the website because there was no way to remove her profile, just pics, and they tried to tell me that we had broken the law by allowing her to do this.....um, no, she clicked on the "I am under 13 but have my parents permission" box when doing this, at no time did she try to misrepresent herself and say she was older than 11, but she was contacted by someone who had no business talking to her.

really off topic, but you mentioned flash flash revolution.

A kid at school is autistic, but freakin amazing at that game. He'll go on the hardest level and get 100%

there also was that Japanese autistic that got pi (3.14157...) to over 5000 decimal places and it took him 5 hours. WOW

that's really cool. I can play Dance Dance revolution really well. I even put a video of myself on the web dancing super fast!

I used to use firefox, but I thought the interface was kinda ugly, ad it ran a bit slow. Then I switched to safari, but that was slow and pushy. Now I use Camino, It has tabbed browsing and isn't a resource hog
