My porcupine puffer last night had his right side fin totally clamped to his body. Other side is fine. In a 75g with a lionfish both just added about 2 weeks ago. He sure gets close to the lion and I think wants to be buddies, could he have gotten stung? 3 hermits in there also. 0 ammon, 0 nitrate, 5 nitrate. I did not check PH last nite but 2 nights ago was 8.4. He ate fine too.

If he got stung, there would be a mark somewhere. Look him over really well and look for that mark. What kind of Lion do you have?

Volitan lion -- 2 1/2 inches body size right now, the puffer is slightly larger. Neither are aggresive to each other yet.

Definitely going to need a larger tank for those 2.

Fins that are pressed to the body very tightly can be related to clamping. My experience is that with clamping, the water parameters may not be the best...however in your situation I don't think that this applies.

Do you have a quaranteen tank you can move it too?
