i have got a 10 gallon I am about a week into with 4 small angels ( I know the tank is too small. I am getting a 55 in less than a month) I read , if I am understanding correctly, that you can add a filter from another tank and some gravel in pantyhose to speed the cycle. Here's the question. I have another tank at home we have had since october, but it has fantail goldfish in it. will this work the same? thanks in advance.

Yes it will work the same, as long as the tank is cycled/established your filter will have bacteria in it. What I have done before is cut a portion of the filter pad off to add to the new filter, it's worked well for me.
