and now I know. lol I had pondered on a few occasions if any of the critters could find their way into the over flow bucket, threw the siphon tubes and get to the other side.
I came home tonight and heard this most god awful suction sound from the tank. What the heck?!!
Not just one but two critters had made their way. A hermit crab, not a small one either, and a Nassarius snail. Quite a journey they had!!!

actually they were both no worse for the wear. lol I think the worst part for them was the giant claw from the sky that grabbed them out of the over flow.

I guess their shells saved them!

the hermit crab was set on sliding down the pipe to the sump!! His shell was just a hair too big to fit. I don't know how the crab lept from being sucked out of the shell!!
