Id just pop down to your LFS.....females tend to be slightly larger, and more rounded than males. They will probably all be housed together...
I dont live anywhere near you, so I cant recommend a store to buy from. sorry.

Females are, well, fatter. Males are longer & skinnier/sleeker. Its quite obvious. Also, males, when seen in the right light, are more golden colored. More like gold and white stripes whereas females are more black and white strips.

Don't rely on them to look different in the shop though. They are younger and not always in ideal weight when they are still in the shop. As far as I know they have a 1:1 sex ratio (someone correct me if I am wrong). So getting a group of six to ten or more will guarantee at least one male and one female. Then it just takes time for them to grow in your high quality water, eat high quality food, and then it is time to setup for and trigger breeding.

Local Fish Shop.

Their breeding tank should be set up just for them. There should be no other fish and you need to be able to either move the parents or the eggs out to another tank to properly raise the eggs. The parents will eat their own eggs if given the chance.
