I traded some computer speakers for this 29 gallon tank (thank you Craigslist). It came with a filter, heater, siphon, and air pump. My red zebras have been in there for a day now and they are doing a lot of exploring. When I first put them in they stayed in the corner and wouldn't move, like they weren't sure what else was in there with them. Their survival instincts are pretty impressive. The tank decor is pretty basic with no substrate and only a few large rocks and fake plants. It is very easy to clean.

The zebras are eating super soft spirulina by HBH. It is easy to break up for them. They are also getting live brine shrimp and some frozen brine. I think I'm going to do a 15%-20% daily water change. Let me know what you think.

Absolutely gorgeous babies!!!
Word of caution, we have ours growing out in a 10gal, some of the demons and acei are getting larger and the newborn fry seem to have disappeared that we found on Monday night with the tank change. I know when I put them in the older fry started chasing them right off the bat.

nice trade. I'd give my old comp for a 29g any day

It was just speakers. Not even the monitor or computer, which is even better

How much were the speakers? lol

02-15-2007, 04:10 AM
yeah, they must have been gold speakers

They were nice speakers but I got them for free too. They were Creative suround sound speakers (4 small speakers and a sub). They were just sitting in my closet collecting dust so I figured what the hay.

creatives are nice, but id have that tank way rather than speakers. you can always buy used ones.
At a auction, i got one of those old LED lottery boards, 5 speakers, 6 cellphones, and a bingo memento all for a buck, and some of the speakers were dell.
I love the LED billboard. I just put a list of fish species on it

nice looking simple setup, looks very easy to clean. I have my angel fry in a bare bottom tank with a sponge filter and some floating plants. I do about 75% water changes every three days.

I'm using a penguin 200 for filtration. At first I thought it would be too much but these guys are strong swimmer and seem to be doing fine. I do have to stop the filter to feed though, it is a little strong for brine shrimp. How many angels do you have and how many gallons is your tank?

Wow, first off, what a deal you got on that tank! I wish i was in the states so I could take advantage of deals like that, over here it's hard to get stuff like that for next to nothing. Second, your fry are in heaven with that beautiful setup, I can't wait to see more beautiful pics of those fish, they look great!
