Here are some pictures of my 2 ebjd. They both have white on there stomachs. I read that when they are young they start off white and then turn blue, but is this something I should be worrying about. my ph is at 7.2, my nitrates are basicly at 0, and my nitrites and ammonia are at 0. They are housed with 3 loaches and 3 festivums, which dont bother them at all. actually the ebjd will chase the festivums every once in a while.

I just got both of them last week. They used to hide in there cave all the time, but I notice they are comming out more and more. One of them likes to stay in the back corner and the other one seems to like it by that heater. I'm hoping they get used to there new home and start to swim around the tank more.

Do you think its because they are young our maybe something else?

Here are the pictures. The picture of him with his fins up is the first one I took. They dont like the camera too much.

btw they do have more color than what the pictures show, The flash drains all of the color out of the picture.

mine sometimes look a little golden in certain pictures, too. They look absolutely adorable! I think you've got some real nice ones there, and I know you'll give them the best care that you can. Good luck to you!

I'll bet their behavior is just because they are young, and their white-ish color is definitely because they are young. you'll start seeing some blue at about the 2" mark. I think they start really darkening up and showing a little green at around 4" mark.

nice fish adam! to eliminate the flash in the glass, angle the camera up or down in relation to the glass. basically what i mean is, an aquarium wall is 90 degrees typically, hold the camera at about a 45 degree angle to the glass and snap away. it should alleviate it

Thats good to hear!! Thanks for all of the help, Im kind of worried right now becuase we are basicly having a blizzard and if the power goes out im going to have some problems. I figure if the power goes out im going to heat the water up with our gas stove.

I saw some pics of some fully grown ebjd and they look amazing, I cant wait!!
