Woo-hoo No Work Tonight!

My boss just called......the American Legion where I bartend on Tue & Thurs nights is going to close at the end of the daytime shift because we are getting nailed with a massive snow storm. Apparently business's in the county just South of us are closing....Girl Scouts has been cancelled.....and now I get to stay home and play with my new puter!!!!
The only downside is I told my sister NOT to pick up the kids, leave them here. She has to go home because she has a school age child that will be home alone if she doesn't, but at least this way if she goes off the road or gets into or behind an accident she doesn't have a 3 yr old and a 4 month old in the car with her.

That's pretty cool Kim.
I never get to miss anything because of the weather in SoCal. It's pretty much the same day in and day out. At least I never have to shovel snow

My work still hasnt cancled even though we have the same weather as you. they said 12 to 16 inches by tomarrow morning and most of it is comming tonight. That means im going to have a heck of a time going into work tonight and then an even worst time trying to come home tomarrow morning. they still have 3 and a half hours to cancel though.

My neighbor called earlier and the plant she works at in Twinsburg received a visit from the State Highway patrol that told them to close down operations and send all 2nd shift workers home because it was getting too dangerous to keep them there until later. She is hoping they close for tomorrow too. I have lived in Ohio most of my life, and in this area, and don't recall any but the blizzard of 77 shutting down the world, but I know my dad still went to work!

hey kimmers unless there were 2 different blizzards in our 2 different sections of the state it was the blizzard of 78'. it was in january of 78', I know I wasnt alive then but i just watched a documentary about it and my parents have talked about it.

also my work cancled, im happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thumbs2: :19: :19: :19:

Well, it looks like your storm has migrated north and is at the moment pounding us.

Nothing like they got in NY, but we're calling for over a foot of snow overnight. Wonder if I'll go into work tomorow, or work at home.

Or spend all day shoveling! I'm responsible for doing around our appartment building, so it should be fun.

Ugh, shoveling this snow is TOUGH. Theres only like 5 inches of it, but it all compacted freezing rain......but at least I got to put off 2 midterms....time to study lol.

We got about 8-10 inches of snow today then about another 2-3 inches of sleet/hail and we are expecting another 1-3 inches of snow tonight at around 10-10:30pm they are saying that after we get this last batch of snow the temps are going to drop down fast and they are saying there will be a sheet of ice over everything in time for the morning commute...I am praying there is no work again tomorrow. I dont mind walking in the snow and ice but when it comes to driving when it is icey outside...that scares me way more then snow.

Everything was getting better around here and then it snowed another inch or so a sleeted a little and it is all icy. Hopefully there wont be any school tomorrow!

man, its a blizzard here. Its so dam cold, i sneezed outside and spit fell on my jacket and it froze solid in 1 second literally. lol

my drive way froze over last night...i found out the hard way...my nose is all cut up cause i did a face plant. but i was nice and put salt on my drive way so everyone else could drive up...i'm too nice

Myers made me go to work yesterday and today but i get to go with him on friday! yay...

i go for my medical stuff next saterday...wish me luck!

Well, just got back from shoveling. Had it up to my waist in places. But is was all fluffy snow, so it wasn't so bad.

The problem now is that the wind is blowing, so a lot of stuff I shoveled is flying right back into where I got rid of it.

But at least it's not too cold. So it ain't so bad.

ive had PLENTY of wipeouts. Im like super klutz.
Fell on the icy road, down the stairs, and 1 cm away from tripping into my 10g on the mini fridge
