I don't suppose fish eggs look different from one another according to species?
Different gestation periods?
I noticed some fish eggs on the bottom of my 20g QT tank (yippeeeee!!), but I don't know wether it's from the cardinals that I had in there, or the hatchets..
What do I do now? How long till they hatch?

Depends on the species. Rasbora eggs hatch in like a day. Gudgeon eggs hatch in 3-7 days.
I would think that fish that spawn on leaves and things and don't care for their eggs/fry would hatch faster than fish that do care for their eggs/fry.

light destroys Cardinal eggs
Oh-oh....
Instantaneously?
Because all of the eggs were under a piece of driftwood that I removed to make catching the cardinals easier.. :((

Cardinals have to kept in total darkness while spawning/ eggs hatching/ and for a week or two after becoming free swimming, then gradually weaned to light
