I have a organe platy that have fallen in love whit a cornor of the aquarium, he, she, it, whatever it is this month sit in the cornor and rub his nose into it, he is healty, swim and eat but always return to his cornor to swim up and down the glass there and rub his nose against the glass. Why do the fish do this?

ive wondered that too. My m.Auratus seems to rub his nose all day.
I think they see something in the room they want to explore or they see something that looks like food

My platies do the same thing, especially around feeding time. They're probably just looking for food or looking to explore my living room.
Also, is you platy alone? Adding a couple of other platy friends could help with the corner infatuation.
By the way, to tell if it's a male or a female, look at the anal fin (the un paired fin on the bottom of the fish) and if it has a long projection on it, it's male. If the edge is a triangle shape, it's a female.

Thank you all for the information. No the platy is not alone, but it have only only other platy to play whit and two agressive skirt tetras.
Other hobbies of the little organe platy is to hide in a little cave in the tank and rush forward to bite other fish in the tale, it seam to think it is extremly funny.

If the tetras are aggressive towards the platies, that could explain why they're always in the corner. It's just trying to stay away from the aggressive fish.
How long have they been together and how big is the tank?

It is 13 gallons, and very dirthy, I dont know how long they ahve been together. i have taken over a disaster aquarium, there are only 4 surviving fish in the disater erea.

In that case it could also be bad water conditions that are stressing out the fish and making them behave weird.
It should clear up when you get the aquarium back under control.
Best of luck re-establishing the disaster zone.

Does the Platy open it's mouth while in the corner? I have 4 Swordtails and one or two of them always stick to the glass. I am almost sure they are eating the alge. Thoses kind of fish love to eat Angle. Also maybe I am wrong and it is something totally diffrent.

My molly used to do that. After she had her fry she started to basically own the tank. Hy white cloud and cherry barb did that the first day that I got them now they have their own swimming patterns..
Anyways.. your platy is probably excited to be able to see out the glass if the water is that bad. I would be dreaming of clear space too.. :18:

Yeah, platies are pretty tough. We had three swordtails turn our aquarium upside down with ich, fungus and pop-eye and the two platies we had used to cycled the tank just toughed it out.
The meds mess up the cycle, there was intense amounts of disease (hence the meds) and they just kept on swimming like nothing was going on. Three months later, there still there and doing fine, with three other platies and a new catfish friend.

i think platys are a great fish.
They are common and are the ideal normal fish
