Yeah...well hes just "skinny fat" but he has gained 10lbs since my parents old Border Collie died, she was 13. We were playing in the snow this evening and I got some pics of Smokie while I was at it :)

Thanks everyone :22:
Its funny my parents border died yet the dog food bill hasnt changed any, Smokie is just eating her old part to. lol! Plus he is spoiled rotten and always has a bone, and my parents make him dinner with us. The extra bloody steak that hasnt been marinated in liquor is always the dogs. I think he looks better with a little extra weight, not sure thats a healthy mindest one should have about their pet tho.
Be careful with the weight. Most animals, including humans, have evolved to be on the slim side - the extra weight just cause problems.
My vet is totally against any extra weight on dogs and cats - too many related health issues.
As a rule of thumb you should be able to easily count ribs...feel for a very slight fat layer on top.
More than that is just too much.

All my pets are overweight to some degree, Im not really concerned about Smokie right now its winter he always gains some in the winter but never this much. Now my horse is another story...maybe I should be getting him the mini moon pies instead of the large ones, lol. Nah hes lost a bit of weight himself the last few months. :)
